Woodlands Academy caters for pupils aged 3-16 with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. These include: Autism with associated learning difficulties, ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, sensory processing difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication needs. The vast majority of pupils who attend Woodlands have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

Woodlands believes that every pupil has an entitlement to develop to his or her full potential. Educational experiences are provided which develop pupils’ achievements and recognise their individuality. Diversity is valued as a rich resource, which supports the learning of all. We recognise a child’s right to a broad, balanced, relevant and challenging curriculum, which is appropriate to their individual abilities, talents and personal qualities.
